Central Wyoming Counseling Center, offers walk-in intakes (Open Access.) This is how it works; simply call in or walk in between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and you will meet with a therapist; no appointment needed. This has been a re-imagining of our processes; from our staffs roles to our lobby arrangement, says David S. Monhollen. We want to be available when people are hurting and when they want help. Our clients know that we will be here when they need us. Open Access is a system-wide commitment. Clients get in sooner, therapists intervene earlier; resulting in a reduction of overall treatment time and costs. There are 8 to 15 new clients each weekday, and they seldom wait more than 30 minutes for a therapist. CWCCs main lobby is never full of patients waiting. However, it is very busy with clients arriving, going into appointments and leaving after consultations.
